We aren't taught how to properly balance our meals, and this leads to weight gain, loss of energy and major risk factors for most diseases.

The body can even lose the ability to regulate your weight, which leads to obesity and diabetes. Dietary imbalances happen because we lack the knowledge to properly time and combine foods.

Your body wants you to live at your leanest and healthiest!

This course teaches you how!

QUICK START DIET: MYRNA APPROVED MEALS & SNACKS

At Myrna Method we love to explain to people

HOW nutrition science works.

However, we were given feedback from previous patients, telling us:
"Just tell me how to eat NOW! I'll learn later."

Thus a quick meal guide was made.

The key to Myrna Method is to unteach/debunk diet ideas you may believe. The tired tales of counting calories, "yo-yo dieting",  or starving yourself to achieve your weight goals need to be laid to rest. A paradigm shift on how you look at nutrition is the true goal, which results in your leanest and healthiest weight. In just 4 weeks you will have the truth about weight loss and healthy eating, without spending years of school learning nutrition biochemistry.

Myrna's goal is to create this online course that successfully breaks the divide between the professional and the individual on how nutrition science works using an easy, applicable plan.

Myrna's Methodology for Complete Health

In this video Myrna introduces the four key areas to stop food imbalances. The 4 corners of the Balance BoxTM as well as the two dietary formulas, Portion ControlTM and Glycemic ControlTM, were developed and researched by Myrna Haag to give you easy tools  to eat your healthiest. This revolutionary system is based on  scientific data and research rather than anecdotical evidence and popular opinion.

Most health problems are related to poor food choices that result in weight gain, which is the major contributor for most diseases. Clinical research shows that if most people could maintain their ideal body weight they would reverse most diseases and symptoms. Struggling with weight loss is not about willpower but chemical imbalances we create from proteins, carbohydrates, fats and fibers that are not properly timed and combined.

Foods that are not balanced deregulate the appetite; in other words we eat more of the wrong foods, which eventually disrupt the metabolism, resulting in obesity, inflammation, and increased risk factors for cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The Myrna method is the scientific approach on how to naturally regulate the appetite to reverse obesity, inflammation, and health risk factors.

After years of research and patient data I developed two dietary formulas (portion control and glycemic control)  that solve the four main dietary reasons for imbalances. The Myrna Method explains how poor food choices can cause our muscles, insulin, gut bacteria and brain chemicals to trigger a chemical response that deregulates our body's natural ability to maintain our leanest and healthiest weight.

The Myrna Method teaches you how  to eat from a scientific approach and then gives you the dietary tools to apply it. The Myrna Method formulas create a dietary homeostasis which you create by knowing how to properly time and combine foods, which removes the desire to eat foods that keep you trapped in fatigue and Yo-Yo weight gain.

The Myrna Method is not a diet, but a lifestyle approach that teaches you the scientific process to weight loss and health with easy tools to apply it. The Myrna Method is a proven approach to live life at your healthiest and leanest weight.

Muscle Method

We have 600 muscles covering over 40% of the human body.  Muscles function based on cellular messages that happen because food and  movement create a chemical response.   Most people don’t think of muscles as a key player in determining energy, weight loss, and inflammation, but muscle tissue is your primary metabolism center. Muscles have their own system of balance which becomes deregulated when protein, carbs and fats are not properly timed and combined. Muscles want macronutrients properly portioned,  and when this doesn’t happen, dietary imbalances occur. The Myrna Method portion control formula will maintain what the muscle needs to create balance. In this video you will learn how muscles respond to food and create a dietary balance that helps regulate your appetite.

Insulin Resistance

When sugar enters the bloodstream, the hormone insulin is released. The timing in which this happens is called the  Insulin Response to Sugar. What regulates insulin’s response is the proper timing and combining of carbohydrates; these are the compounds that turn into sugar and enter the bloodstream. The hormone insulin has a natural system of balance which can be deregulated when carbohydrates and fats are not properly timed and combined. Insulin resistance, Type 2 Diabetes and Type 3 Diabetes (Alzheimer’s) are examples of when the hormone insulin does not function optimally.

This results in a sluggish metabolism, fatigue, muscle loss, obesity, inflammation and an increased risk for heart disease. The Myrna Method Glycemic Formula regulates carbohydrate consumption. This video explains why the glycemic formula is critical in maintaining carbohydrate balance for optimal insulin response.

Gut Bacteria

The bacteria in the gut is considered  a new organ system because of the chemical interaction these bacteria have with food and how it affects the host.  Gut bacteria contribute to physiological processes that regulate our immune system, hormones, inflammation response, enzyme function, and nerve function. Our gut bacteria have been identified as a key contributor for disease prevention (from good gut bacteria) or disease causation (from bad gut bacteria). They can contribute to heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, autoimmune and infectious diseases. Most bacteria in the gut are grown from the foods you eat. Gut bacteria can travel to the brain and trigger preferences for whatever foods maintain the current  gut bacteria landscape. If you have an overload of bad gut bacteria you will crave the foods that keep the  bad bacteria alive.

The Myrna Method teaches what foods cause gut dysbiosis (overload of bad bacteria) or gut health (healthy gut probiotic bacteria). The portion control formula helps maintain adequate fiber for gut balance.

Brain

Unfortunately, we cannot remove the neurological memories that food creates, such as the memory of liking chocolate cake.  But we can build new behavior patterns that are used instead of  the old ones. However, it will be very challenging to develop good brain behavior patterns if we have dietary  imbalances that  trigger a desire for chocolate cake. This is when willpower doesn’t work. Part of the problem is that our brain chemicals are predisposed to prefer the sweetest and fattest foods due to a gene programmed during prehistoric human survival, which reinforces our bad behavior patterns. The Myrna Method proves that when muscles, insulin, and gut bacteria are properly balanced using the portion control and glycemic formulas, chocolate stays a memory and not an addiction.

Summary

The belief that calorie counting is the golden rule for weight loss is debunked.

The body has a natural regulatory system for maintaining your leanest weight,

which is about balancing meals and not counting calories.

Portion ControlTM

When the body receives the “right" portion of food, it results in appetite satisfaction, optimum nutrients for health, and fuel for energy, which results in a lean, energetic, healthy body.

When the body receives the "wrong" portion of food it usually means constant hunger, inadequate nutrients and low energy, which leads to obesity, inflammation and fatigue.

The body depends on us to make smart choices when deciding the right portion.  Food companies consider a portion of food based on a certain number of calories for one serving, yet the body determines the right portion on the other macronutrients that come with the calories. Most people are not aware that every instance of them eating the wrong portion of food can trigger a metabolic imbalance, which is the body’s way of compensating for poor food choices. In the Myrna Method I explain the science behind portions, and how the wrong portions create a compensation which leads to food addiction, obesity, inflammation, and sluggish metabolism. I discuss how muscles, insulin and gut bacteria in association with diet are the main culprits for most metabolic imbalances when poor food choices are made, which is why I developed the Myrna Method portion control formula to give my patients an easy solution. Based on my nutrition research and years of proven patient outcomes, the portion control formula works every time, because it is based on biochemistry and how the body works in association with food. In the Myrna Method I teach you how these imbalances can make you fat, tired, and sick, and how to apply the portion control formula when planning  meals. The Myrna Method portion control formula is easy to use and you will be able to look at any food label and know immediately if it is the right portion, and if not, how you can combine it with other foods to make it a smart portion. The body eats less when its appetite is satisfied and energy and nutritional needs are met, which is why people following the Myrna Method live life at their leanest and healthiest weight. The portion control formula is a tool I created to help my patients know how to determine the right portion, and these videos will teach you how it works.

After years of working with patients, I realized a national epidemic is sweeping across America, causing weight gain and diabetes at an alarming rate. It is more serious than our current health care system recognizes, because most people are not aware they have this underlying condition called Insulin Resistance. In fact, laboratory values may reflect a perfect blood sugar reading and yet a person can still be at high risk for diabetes and dementia and not even know it.

Insulin resistance, even at undetectable levels,  deregulates the metabolism's ability to utilize sugar, causing weight gain in the mid-section, and making it hard to lose weight and keep it off. The dietary interventions that are typically recommended are low carbohydrate diets and the keto diet, with intermittent fasting, which I explain are only  temporary solutions which can actually worsen the condition long-term.  My biochemistry studies proved most drugs and diets are treating the symptoms and not addressing the root cause of the condition, which can be reversed with the proper balance of carbohydrates. I created the glycemic formula to treat patients with type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance and discovered over 50% of Americans are dealing with a sluggish metabolism, and belly weight gain from an insulin response they could have avoided.  American food that is not properly balanced, over time,  leads to insulin resistance. In the Myrna Method I teach you how insulin can be a major disrupter if you do not know how to properly manage your diet, which is why I developed the Myrna Method Glycemic Formula. My tool is super easy to use and you will be able to look at a food label and know immediately  what type of insulin response you will have, and most importantly, how to fix your meals and reverse insulin resistance. This video will explain how it works.

Myrna Method Formulas for BalanceTM

The body has an automatic shut-off switch that stops us from over-indulging. Not knowing proper portion sizes creates dietary imbalances that trigger overeating and food addiction behavior.  This video teaches you a dietary formula that is super easy to use when meal planning. After this video you will be able to look at a food label and immediately know if it is a quality portion.
